Production

The Film Agency for Wales wishes to increase the range and number of films being produced by new, emerging and established Welsh talent. We have a particular interest in supporting Welsh writers, writer-directors, directors and producers.

Our door is always open for informal discussions, regardless of whether or not a formal funding application is planned, and we are happy to offer advice, information and to suggest contacts wherever possible.

Through our Arts Council of Wales lottery funding, we are currently able to contribute up to £200,000 to British qualifying, theatrical films, including feature-documentaries. We can co-finance with other Welsh financiers, such as Finance Wales' IP Fund and post-production facility house, Derwen, for example, in addition to co-financing alongside other lottery bodies (subject to a cap of 50% of the total finance) including the UK Film Council, Scottish Screen, the Northern Ireland Screen Commission and the various Regional Screen Agencies.
