It's My Shout 2007

13th January 2007

ITV Wales in association with Bridgend Council are currently seeking submission of:

  • 10 minute film scripts in both English and Welsh language. We are predominantly interested in the genres of comedy, children's film and horror, but we are open to other genres, even musicals…
  • An accompanying one-page only, defining the story in a paragraph, brief notes on character, and any additional notes you may wish to add.

The deadline for delivery is 12pm on Monday 19th February 2007.

Participating actors will come from Roger Burnell's award-winning drama groups that have seen the training of talent such as Michael Sheen and Rob Brydon. Therefore:

  • Parts must be written for a range of both male and female 8 to 25 year olds (although some minimal casting will take place outside this age group).
  • Stories must be of interest to this age group.

It's My Shout has produced a number of successful short films over the last two years, with shortlist positions in the prestigious DM Davies Award. As well as creating original and entertaining film, the aim of this scheme is to provide development for writers and directors, and training for young people through pre-production workshops, location shoots and the post-production process. Six actors groups will provide the backdrop for script rehearsals and development.

7 English language scripts will be chosen for development, with 6 eventually going into production over the summer and being transmitted on ITV Wales and during industry screenings later in the year.

3 Welsh language scripts will be chosen for development which will take place later in the year, with 2 being chosen for production.
