The SSAW participants of the Warsaw–based EKRAN scheme have been announced…Massimo Salvato, Anna Pauletti, Edward Casey and Stuart Brereton with their project 'Sails, Opera One' were selected by Wojciech Marczewski.
Two Screen Academy students have secured paid work experience on new lottery feature film Flick. Christopher Morrell will be working on lighting and Simon Moore will be a Production Assistant as the film is shot in and around Cardiff.
Welsh contenders one of four animated films selected for prominent Sundance Festival Welsh animators Dan Gray and Tom Brown, recent graduates of the Skillset Screen Academy Wales (International Film School Wales), have received the phone call that all filmmakers hope for – the call from Utah, from Robert Redford – from Sundance.
The Sundance Film Festival is organised by the Sundance Institute, which was set up 25 years ago by Robert Redford. The festival, which is renowned for starting the careers of independent filmmakers, is considered to be the premier U.S. showcase for American and international independent film.

Film industry news
BAFTA Cymru are now accepting entries for the Annual BAFTA Cymru Film, Television & New Media Awards Ceremony due to take place on Saturday 28th April 2007 at Cardiff International Arena.
T4 launches 'Homemade' on Channel 4 on Saturday 13th January at 1.30pm showing viewers' home videos.
Skillset have launched an interactive, visual guide to how films get made which storyboards every scene in the life of a typical UK film.
AmperSAND event 7pm Wednesday 10th January 2007 at the National Waterfront Museum: Huw Walters, Commercial Director of Calon TV, will talk about the work of the Calon team, focusing on the animation side of their work.
TAC and Pact agree to merger talks.

Lee Lighting Bristol are offering students 50% discount from book price for lighting equipment. They can also offer advice on: cost structure in relation to the proposed filming schedule; cinematography lighting questions; operating lamps on location; and health and safety.
